ABOUT
Nima Safaei is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Operations and Business Analytics at the Fisher College of Business, The Ohio State University. His research interests lie in Sustainable Operations, Supply Chain Analytics, Technology Innovation, and AI in Operations. His work employs a diverse set of methodologies including Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Natural Language Processing, Applied Econometrics, Causal Inference, and Network Analysis.
Nima's research has been published in Production and Operations Management. He has also contributed to top venues in Computer Science, including the Association for Computational Linguistics (ACL) conference, and applied outlets such as Neurocomputing, Scientific Reports, and PLOS ONE.
Prior to joining Ohio State, Nima earned his Ph.D. in Information, Operations, and Supply Chain Analytics from the Gies College of Business at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. He has industry experience as a Machine Learning Research Intern at TikTok and as an AI Scientist Intern at Cargill, working on causal machine learning, graph neural networks, NLP-driven chatbots, and computer vision systems.
